Second Place in the Fairfield Bay 4th of July parade

Even though it rained and our pretty boat float was soaked we took home 2nd place!!!

More 4th - Boati Style

Well, it rained.  It rained some more, but in between and during the showers we had our 4th of July parade.  While the crowd was small there were some dedicated few who showed up and scarfed up some beads and some rubber ducks (how appropriate!) from our float.

AND.....our poor water soaked bedraggled little float took home second place!!!!

A big thanks to Jim Staples who loaned us his boat, trailer, truck, time, & gas to pull us through (literally) the 4th of July!  Jim is a loyal Charter member of the Krewe of Jesters!!  I'm thinking that prize money is going to him. 

Despite the rain the GOOD TIMES ROLLED!!!!

4th of July - Boati Style

As I write this I am waiting for the printer to finish printing the pages which will be the banner on our Boati Gras entry in this year's 4th of July parade which is, of course, being held on Friday, July 3rd this year.  This is not quite as outrageous as it sounds.  We swap the 3rd and 4th out with Heber Springs every year so folks can attend the events at both towns.  Why just watch one fireworks extravaganza when you can have two!!!

The weathermen are predicting a 90% chance of rain tomorrow!!!  Hopefully, it holds off long enough to have our parade in the morning and then stops in time for our fireworks tomorrow night.
