The Cleansing of the Fleet

Sign at Jack's - 1st Boati Gras

Here's one way to decorate a boat................My brother Jim - King of Jesters - walks us through his process.

You take a little chicken wire......
Add a little paper machete....we used liquid starch and newspaper.
Add a little paint.......................
....some clothes on some more chicken wire.....

Our first float in the 4th of July Parade

We had our little float in the 4th of July parade in Fairfield Bay.

Introductions: Boati Gras is Born!!!!

As you may or may not know, it is way too cold in the mountains of Arkansas to have a boat parade for Mardi Gras.  We (my brother and I) decided to start our own celebration in August when the weather is much more favorable to fun and frolic in the lake. Thus Boati Gras was born.

Boati Gras is a Pseudo-Mardi Gras on the water in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.

The Krewe of Jesters was organized at the Farifield Bay Marina. (other krewes are welcome and encouraged to organize.)

Our first parade was in the Summer of 2013 on Greers Ferry Lake. The boat parade is  similar to Mardi Gras Parades with boats decorated instead of floats. There is NO COST except whatever time and effort you want to put into your own boat.  We will be celebrating our 3rd Annual Boati Gras (now a Signature Event in Fairfield Bay) on Saturday, August 1, 2015!

Bear with me as I get this blogging thing down (setting up the page, that is.)

Come play with us!  Laissez les bon temps roulez!!!
